WHY IT MATTERS:

This year, 1 in every 4 children will be bullied. And not just at school; it happens at home, on the bus, at an extracurricular activity, etc. Bullying is everywhere and a serious problem for our children. It directly affects a student’s ability to learn; they don’t want to go to school, have difficulty concentrating, show a decline in grades, & lose self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth. In some cases, bullying has led to devastating consequences. According to the CDC, Suicide is the second leading cause of death in 10 – 34 year olds.

THE MISSION:

We are using the month of October and the KindShift event to spread awareness around the kindness movement in hopes that this discussion will start to change the culture. Studies show that more than 55% of bullying situations will stop when a peer intervenes. Everyone has a voice in raising awareness of bullying and every child has a right to feel safe and supported. It’s time for us as a community to take action and standup to bullying.

THE MOVEMENT:

KindShift is focused on SHIFTING our mindset, actions, and momentum towards positivity and inspiration. We are calling on the Stapleton and Denver community to descend upon the Conservatory Green Amphitheater with one sole purpose: to MOVE. And one intention: KINDNESS.

The KindShift event is a family friendly pop-up workout party. Shift Cycle instructors will be leading a 60-minute bootcamp style workout suited for all ages and all fitness levels. The workout will be a combination of everything from pushups and core, to yoga, kickboxing, and more. After the workout, hangout, eat lunch, participate in or raffle and take the time to as a family to make an action plan for dealing with bullying.

EVERYONE HAS A VOICE IN RAISING AWARENESS OF BULLYING. LET'S TAKE ACTION AND STAND UP TO BULLYING.
